EV charger installation and electrical work, from an Uttoxeter electrician.
Home and workplace charge points are what we do most of. Surveyed properly, wired on a dedicated circuit, tested and certificated. Alongside that, the everyday electrical work: rewires, fuse board upgrades, EICRs and new builds.

Our specialist service
Thinking about charging your car at home?
Charging overnight on an EV tariff is the cheapest way to run an electric car by a distance, and a proper charge point is a great deal safer than leaving a three-pin lead plugged in every night.
What we install is a dedicated circuit from your fuse board to the charge point. The part that varies house to house is the cable run. That's what decides how long the job takes and what it costs, not the charger itself.
- A survey first: supply, main fuse, existing board and where the car actually parks
- Cable route agreed with you before anything is drilled
- Load management where the main fuse can't take another 32A at full tilt
- Tested, commissioned, app set up, and certificated before we leave
Usually a day
Most straightforward home installations are done inside a day. Anything that won't be, you'll hear about before we start.
Old fuse board?
Not automatically a problem. If it can't take the circuit, a small enclosure alongside it is often cheaper than a full upgrade.
Awkward parking?
Detached garages and long drives are routine, cable size goes up with distance, and that's about it.
Done to Section 722
The right RCD protection with DC fault detection, and open-PEN protection on PME supplies. Not optional.
Everything else
The rest of the electrical work
EV chargers are the speciality, not the whole job. Most weeks also bring consumer units, rewires, inspections and new build work.
Consumer units & fuse boards

Real jobs, photographed on site, not stock images.

New builds & rewires · Ashbourne
Second fix on a new build extension, downlights set out around the roof lights rather than on a grid, and the sockets positioned to the furniture plan rather than the empty room.

Consumer units · Staffordshire
New metal-clad board with individually protected circuits and surge protection, tails and meter reworked, and every cable clipped and dressed on a fresh backboard.

The part nobody sees once the cover is on: every conductor cut to length, looped and terminated, with the neutrals in the same order as the devices so the next person can follow it.
Where we work
Your local electrician in Uttoxeter
We're based in Uttoxeter and most of our work is within about half an hour of it, which is deliberate. It means turning up when we said, and being able to come back if something needs a second look.
That covers the town itself and the villages around it, out through Rocester and Denstone to the north, Marchington and Tutbury to the south-east, Abbots Bromley to the south-west, and over the Derbyshire border to Doveridge and Ashbourne.
Common questions
Questions we get asked a lot
Do you install EV chargers in Uttoxeter?
Yes, EV charger installation is our main specialist service, and Uttoxeter is where we're based. We cover the town and the surrounding villages across east Staffordshire and into south Derbyshire.
Which areas do you cover?
Uttoxeter and everywhere within a realistic working distance of it: Rocester, Denstone, Marchington, Doveridge, Tutbury, Abbots Bromley, Cheadle and Ashbourne among them, plus the villages in between. If you're not sure whether you're in range, just ask.
Are you qualified and insured?
Yes. KS Electrical is a fully qualified electrician, registered with NAPIT, a government-approved Competent Person Scheme, and holds all applicable insurances. Documentation can be provided before work starts.
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes. A single socket, a light fitting, an extractor fan or a switch are all normal work. Small jobs get grouped by area so travel stays sensible, and you'll be given a realistic day rather than a vague promise.
Do you provide EICRs and landlord certificates?
Yes, for landlords, homeowners and businesses. You get the report, a full schedule of circuits and test results, and a separate itemised quote for any remedial work, with no obligation to use us for it.
How do I get a price?
Send an enquiry with a couple of photos, or ring. For EV chargers, pictures of your consumer unit, your meter and where you park will usually get you a firm figure without a visit.
More detail on the EV charger page and in the guides.
Get a quote for your job
Tell us what you need and roughly where you are. For EV chargers, a couple of photos of your fuse board and where you park will usually get you a firm price without a visit.
